Kameron Cluchey, LCSW, received her Bachelors in Social Work from Bradley University, Masters of Social Work with specialization in Child and Family from University of Illinois at Chicago, and her Post-MSW Professional Educator License for School Social Work from Aurora University. She has over 16 years of experience in the school social work and clinical therapy fields.
Specializing in anxiety (including school anxiety/refusal, phobias, and social anxiety), depression, self-injury, suicidality, and LGBTQ+ issues, Kameron is committed to providing a safe, supportive, and judgment-free environment for her clients and families. She has a passion for working with older elementary aged kids, adolescents, and teenagers and incorporates a lot of games, art, and hands-on activities into her therapeutic interventions. Some kids like to craft, some kids like to play games, and some kids go straight for the epic fidget bin- the importance of engaging kids in creative ways is always a priority.
Kameron also currently works part time as a middle school social worker in Dupage County. She has a strong background in Individualized Education Plans, Functional Behavior Assessments, and Behavior Intervention Plans and can help to navigate and advocate for her clients within the educational system. Making sure your children are getting the support they need at school, as well, helps to reduce their overall stress and can improve their emotional and behavioral balance in other settings, too.
Kameron has presented at numerous industry related conferences where she is known for providing engaging and impactful professional development sessions with tangible, useful takeaways for educators. She has also consulted for Chicagoland school districts in the areas of suicide prevention, school-based therapeutic intervention, and refinement of best practices.
On a personal note, Kameron is neurodivergent herself, piloting her chaotic ship with two neurodivergent tween boys, a neurotypical (and patient) husband, a blind horse named Poppy, a crazy dog named Piper, and an axolotl… of course.
